Main character analysis blog post

 The main characters of our film is Lila and Ethan. Lila is a young woman in her mid 20's, she has a deep appreciation for stories and books as seen in her enjoyment of reading in solitude at the park. Lila's ultimate role in the story remains open ended will she fight, run, or surrender to whatever darkness Ethan has become. The main role that she takes from Vladimir Popps analysis is the hero. Ethan is in his high 20's and appears as charming. He approaches Lila by using their shared love for literature as a means to connect. The main role that he takes is false hero/villain. In the film both main characters physical appearance gives young due to the fact that they are only in their twenties. Lila has on a warm color sweater and jeans while Ethan is wearing streetwear. Lila is intelligent, independent, and drawn to quiet introspective moments. Her mental health state ends up being all over the place as the story takes a huge plot twist. Ethan is chirming, intelligent and slightly awkward in an endearing way. His mental health doesn't take a huge affect from the plot twist as much as Lila due to him not bein in the right mind.

For my project i decided to work in a group of 4. In the group it is Audrianna, Ja’naii, Kennise, and myself. The reason I chose to work in a group is because we can create more ideas and split the project into differ ent ways which can help us get the work in and done.We do try to work together on majority of the projects in media studies when allowed. Some of the ideas we have come up with are something scary but something that also has to do with romance. We have different tastes in our types of movies so it is very interesting when we are brainstorming together.

Movie opener brainstorm and research

 1. The observations we made for the first clip was that many different camera shots and angles were used to show the boy’s actions. We also observed the use of diegetic sound as the music that was playing in his headphones was the same music we could hear. And finally we observed the change of setting which showed the change of time in the day.  2. The observations we made for the second clip were that voiceover was used which provided a quick exposition to the audience. We also observed that towards the end of the clip, the two main shots used in the clip were over the shoulder and two shot which showed the interactions between the two characters. 3.The observations we made for the third clip were that there was use of non diegetic sound which associated with being in a party type of mood while they were competing a dare.
