Lighting blog post

  We used bright light for happy scenes and dim light for serious or scary parts. This helped show how the characters were feeling and made the scenes more interesting.


When we were editing, we also changed the lighting a bit. We made some scenes brighter or darker and used warm colors for happy parts and cool colors for serious parts. We fixed shadows and made the light look softer to make the scenes look nicer.


Overall, the lighting helped a lot to show the mood and make the film look better and played a huge and important role in our film.

Group member and brainstorm project

For my project i decided to work in a group of 4. In the group it is Audrianna, Ja’naii, Kennise, and myself. The reason I chose to work in a group is because we can create more ideas and split the project into differ ent ways which can help us get the work in and done.We do try to work together on majority of the projects in media studies when allowed. Some of the ideas we have come up with are something scary but something that also has to do with romance. We have different tastes in our types of movies so it is very interesting when we are brainstorming together.

Movie opener brainstorm and research

 1. The observations we made for the first clip was that many different camera shots and angles were used to show the boy’s actions. We also observed the use of diegetic sound as the music that was playing in his headphones was the same music we could hear. And finally we observed the change of setting which showed the change of time in the day.  2. The observations we made for the second clip were that voiceover was used which provided a quick exposition to the audience. We also observed that towards the end of the clip, the two main shots used in the clip were over the shoulder and two shot which showed the interactions between the two characters. 3.The observations we made for the third clip were that there was use of non diegetic sound which associated with being in a party type of mood while they were competing a dare.
