Representation Blog Post

Our film represents young adults, focusing on Lila and Ethan as intellectual and curious individuals. Lila is portrayed as independent and observant, while Ethan appears charming but hides a mysterious side. We use counter-stereotypes, making Lila confident rather than shy and Ethan more complex than the typical love interest. The film challenges representation by blending romance and horror, shifting viewpoints from warmth to suspense. To improve character depth, we may enhance Lila's reactions, ensuring she is proactive rather than just fearful, making both leads feel more dynamic and real.

Costuming Blog Post

Lila wears a cozy sweater in warm colors, a flowy skirt or jeans, and soft, worn boots. Her hair is wavy and natural, and she carries a tote bag with her favorite book. She looks friendly and kind. Ethan wears a dark jacket, a simple t-shirt, and jeans, making him look cool but a little mysterious. His hair is a bit messy, and he seems easy to talk to. But later, something changes—his skin looks pale, his eyes turn black, and he seems scary. Their clothes help show how the story goes from warm and happy to dark and spooky.

Initial Film opener script blog post

Setting: A quiet city park at dusk. The streetlights flicker to life as the sun dips below the skyline, casting long shadows across the walking paths. Leaves rustle in the cool evening breeze, and the distant hum of traffic blends with the occasional laughter of parkgoers. A wooden bench sits near a still lake, surrounded by tall oak trees swaying gently in the wind. Scene 1: The Meeting (A golden glow from the sunset reflects off the water. LILA, a young woman in her mid-20s, sits on a worn wooden bench, flipping through a well-loved book. ETHAN, about the same age, approaches with a hesitant but charming smile, holding two cups of coffee.) Ethan: (clears his throat, shifting on his feet) Hey. Sorry to bug you, but… is that The Wanderer’s Tale? Lila: (looks up, surprised) Yeah. You know it? Ethan: (grinning) Know it? I’ve read it three times. It’s a masterpiece. Lila: (raises an eyebrow, intrigued) Most people haven’t even heard of it. Ethan: Well, most people are...

Film Opener Mood Board Blog Post

Image
In my mood board I am trying to capture the point of a romance story gone wrong. The reason I have chose this mood for my film opener is because it can entertain my audience and catch attention when the plot twist takes place. The mood fits with my genre because it displays that you should always be careful with your life decisions. Us choosing the genres of romance and horror was a great decision.

Final Projecct Idea blog post

For our project we came up with the idea to mix genres of romance, thriller, and mystery. The way we planned to do this was by using a linear narrative of when the two subjects do meet to when the story takes a turn. The themes that will be represented are society and life. The reason we say society is because you can’t trust everyone around in the world today which is apart of life. I am excited about being able to make a story with my friends and for the experience & I am worried about nothing really because I feel we have it all together.

Sound Project Blog post

Sound in a film is very important because it can bring different meanings, emotions, and feelings to a scene. It can send messages of the emotions of the characters or it can send messages of the actions being done by the characters. It was not to difficult to come up with sound ideas that would not need visuals because of the certain sounds we chose to do. I do believe that my group was able to create a sound story that the audience would be about understand because of the sequence of the sounds and because of the type of sounds we created. The story we created was of someone driving to the airport and being in a rush to catch a flight. The sounds we made were of heels running, cars, and the people on the announcement and overhead page.
